Where to buy our books

Our books are available from all good bookshops and online.
Our books can be purchased on Amazon, Fishpond, Wheelers, The Nile, Booktopia and other online booksellers, or request them at your local bookshop or library supplier.

Individual orders can be placed by credit card or PayPal on our website. Your order will be processed using our Paypal ecommerce processor. If you are paying with a credit card simply sign in as a PayPal guest and enter your credit card details. If you have any difficulties please contact us to place your order manually.

Freight rates are $8.00 for Australia, $15,00 for New Zealand and $25.00 for rest of world however we encourage readers outside of Australasia to order via your preferred bookshop or online bookseller.

SHIPPING INFORMATION

At Spinifex Press, we’re committed to getting your books to you quickly, securely, and with care. Below you’ll find details about how we ship within Australia and overseas.

Domestic Orders:

• All orders are sent via Australia Post.

• We aim to dispatch orders within 48 hours of confirmation.

• You’ll receive an email with your tracking number once your parcel is on its way.

• Track your parcel anytime through the Australia Post website

• Estimated delivery times:

  • 2–5 business days within Victoria

  • 4–7 business days interstate

International Orders:

• All international parcels are sent via Australia Post.

• We aim to dispatch orders within 48 hours of confirmation.

• Parcels can be tracked via Australia Post until they clear Australian customs, then through your local postal service.

• Typical delivery timeframe: 2–3 weeks from dispatch.

Customs & Duties:

International shipments may sometimes attract import VAT (value‑added tax) or handling fees, depending on the destination country. These charges are determined by local customs authorities and, if applied, are the responsibility of the recipient. We include this information so you are aware before ordering and there are no unexpected costs.

Books are generally duty‑free under international tariff classifications (HS code 4901). However, some countries — particularly within the European Union, such as Portugal, France, Austria, and Sweden — often apply VAT to imports from outside the EU. If you are unsure about local requirements, we recommend checking with your customs office before placing an order.

United States customers: Printed books are classified under Harmonized Tariff Schedule code 4901.99, which is generally duty‑free. Based on this classification, additional tariffs are not typically applied to book orders. Please note that final customs decisions rest with US authorities.

Replacements

If your book arrives with a printing defect, we’ll replace it in line with Australian consumer law.

Ebooks

Our ebooks are available from consumer and library platforms.
Ebooks are available directly from our Ebook Store or from Amazon, Apple, Kobo and other consumer ebook platforms. They are also available through library vendors like ProQuest, Overdrive and other library platforms. Our ebooks are distributed worldwide by IPG.

Trade Information
Spinifex Press distributes directly to the book trade in Australia and New Zealand. Booksellers can download AI sheets, ONIX, Excel and inventory reports on our Bookseller page. There is also a link to subscribe to our bookseller newsletter to keep up-to-date with new book information, awards, and events. If you are in the trade, we highly recommend you sign up to it.
