NGARRINDJERI WURRUWARRIN:
A WORLD THAT IS, WAS, AND WILL BE

Extracts

The following links lead to extracts that give the background to Ngarrindjeri Wurruwarrin, an overview of the structure of the book, and examples of the content.

BACKGROUND:
Prologue

Ngarrindjeri Wurruwarrin arose from Diane Bell's research into the claims of the Ngarrindjeri applicants who were seeking, for the second time, a declaration for protection of an area, including the waters, between Goolwa and Hindmarsh Island. In the Prologue, she traces the course of her research over the years 1995-97.

The application: 1995
The fieldwork: 1996
The aftermath: 1997

Overview

The Prologue also gives an overview of the structure of Ngarrindjeri Wurruwarrin; in Part One, the distinctive weave of ideas, practices and beliefs, and in Part Two, the politics of knowledge.
