Women's Activism and Publishing The Women and Fisheries Network was formally constituted at an inaugural meeting in Suva in June 1993. It currently has 52 members in the Pacific region and internationally, and is engaged in research and advocacy work on fisheries and women. The goals of the Women and Fisheries Network are to:

Officially established on 14 July 1983 with 23 members, it was the culmination of the efforts by Mary Montu of the University of South Pacific and Gracie Fong of the then Crown Law office. FAWG activities include:
