Biography

Felicity Jack has lived within walking distance of the Lort Smith Hospital and the Lost Dogs’ Home since arriving in Australia from England in 1975. But she and many local residents knew nothing of their history and why there were two similar institutions so close to each other. After several years of reading and talking, she answered these questions in her first book, Faithful Friends, published by the Hotham History Project in 2000. She followed this up with The Kindness of Strangers: A History of the Lort Smith Animal Hospital in 2003.
